awwww...

i was watching some documentary on channel 8 called 'how an animal saved my life'.

it happened in chicago zoo, where this 5 yr old boy fell into an enclosure full of gorillas. like seriously fell flat onto the ground. and it's those kinda enclosure with high concrete walls. u can imagine the height he fell from, flat onto the concrete surface. and it was a real footage cos somehow, there's always some guy armed with a video camera at the zoo waiting to capture incidences like this lol.

so anyway, the boy was just lying flat there, in an awkward position, motionless. and naturally, the gorillas in the enclosure became kaypoh, wondering what the commotion was. and this hugeass gorilla came forward, started sniffing him, and like stroking him with its huge hand. and it started protecting the little boy, like shooing away all the other gorillas who wanted to come forward. it even stayed put there and watched over the little boy, making sure no other gorillas came near.

like omg, how heroic can? he was like this big friendly giant watching over the boy, and the retarded zookeepers were taking an eternity to arrive. so when they finally came, big friendly gorilla started rounding up his fellow gorillas to another area to be kept, but somehow, this younger gorilla escaped back into the enclosure during the process and started becoming crazy, running frantically around. and at this moment, the little boy woke up, probably realised the situation he was in, started crying non stop in fear and pain. damn poor thing le, he was bleeding all over his face  :(

and along came this zookeeper with a baton to save the day. like wtf? where's the damn tranquilizer?? he started chasing the gorilla around and it was like damn duh la. this brave guy and the paramedic decided to jump into the enclosure as well to try and save the little boy. in the end they pulled the little boy up with a rope (like as though he wasn't already uncomfortable enough), while the zookeeper was attempting to distract the gorilla with a baton. ok la gotta give it to him for his bravery. but seriously if the gorilla was to pounce on him, the baton will be as useful as a piece of twig. the whole process was damn waste time can, it took like half hour?? any longer the boy would have bled to death. i think my heart will palpitate and i will hyperventilate to death.

moral of the story? gorillas are such sweet creatures. u can never imagine how an animal of their size can show so much compassion to humankind. they showed another footage of this little girl who fell into yet another gorilla enclosure and this gorilla scoop her into its arm, and brought her to some entrance while waiting for the zookeeper to collect her.
