why do people choose to hide things from their parents, not talk to them at all, or at times even find them bothersome and annoying?

like hello, they are the people who worked their way through 70% of their lifespan to provide a damn shelter over your head. the least you could do is communicate with them, or at least tell them what's going on in your life. how hard is that? if you can spend 24/7 with your other half, 3 hour lunches gossiping with colleagues and friends, one whole night of msning and facebooking, is it alot to ask for to just spare an hour of your time to just catch up with your parents?

it's sad to know or hear when friends tell me they find it hard to talk to their parents. what is so god damn hard? even though my dad is your typical silent father, i make it an effort to fill him in on my life during dinners or even in the mornings when i send him to work.

and i would give anything to talk to my mom again.

so pls, for christ's sake. take some time off to talk to your parents. however scary or naggy they may seem, parents love their children with all their heart. human beings are a bunch of retards sometimes. not knowing how to treasure people until they lose the person forever. and all the what ifs and regrets start pouring out. pls, i don't sympathize with you. you had your chance.
