More like a visit to the province of Yunnan, perhaps?
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against these people. But this trip has been an eye opener, to experience such cultural disparities despite being of the same color in the same country.
As anal as Singapore can get being such a fine country, I'm thankful for the stringent regulations the government has imposed upon us to keep our behavior in check.
Shanghai has been known to be one of the faster developing cities, but what good is it if the native people are unable to keep up with the current pace and progression? It's like throwing a baby into an adult pool, expecting him to learn how to swim without any proper guidance, and he ends up drowning.
Growing up in such a fine city has without a doubt, refine us all. Nevertheless, there are still a couple of black sheeps, insultingly termed as ugly singaporeans, sprinkled around our island. Sometimes, the people of China cannot be faulted for the way they behave because they are too big a country for the top guns to govern them all. But what is the excuse for a tiny red dot like us?
I start to wonder, is it really a person's upbringing which contributes to how one think and behave, or is the government the main body responsible for it all?
Ok sensitive topic. Time to sleep and think less of such nonsensical randomness.
