I was told by most people to watch the final farewell of Mrs Lee. And it was so heart wrenching to see MM Lee bid his farewell by placing the final rose and giving his last kiss to his wife.

When I saw this photo, I felt such warmth, yet bittersweet feeling. Warmth because it depicts a picture full of love and blissfulness between 2 old folks. Bittersweet because we all know this is a picture of the past, knowing that Mrs Lee is now gone and MM Lee has lost the love of his life of 61 years. How many of us in this generation could last so long?

From the day Singapore got her independence, we all know Lee Kuan Yew to be this outspoken man of intelligence, moulding Singapore into what it is today. But how many of us know that behind his success, stood his loving wife, who supported him quietly every step of the way. I'm guilty of not even knowing her full name was Kwa Geok Choo. But after reading several articles of her, I have utmost respect for the woman behind MM Lee. Like wise, to learn that he cared so deeply for his wife post stroke was truly heartwarming. I do pray he stays strong.

RIP, Mrs Lee.
