I am so angry now I feel compelled to write this. I don't know what the government is up to coming up with all these measures to curb speculators on private properties. I mean yes, some of the condos do have ridiculous pricing, like the recently launched Tennery in Bukit Panjang asking for approx $1300 psf. Like WTF. Just because it's marketed as some high end SOHO style apartment living beside some LRT (not even MRT!!!), the developers think it deserves $1300 psf. AND IT'S NOT EVEN FREEHOLD!!! But unfortunately, 90% Singaporeans are still clamoring for a unit, such stupidity!
Ok that aside, I'm not even ranting about private properties. They are, after all, still private, with decent facilities and some form of security which justifies the higher price.
BUT WHAT I'M PISSED ABOUT, AND WHAT THE GOVT SHOULD DO, SHOULD BE CURBING THE ESCALATING, RIDICULOUS COV PRICES THAT HDB OWNERS/AGENTS ARE ASKING FOR!!!
SERIOUSLY!!!!! Like why penalize the speculators?? I mean yes, all these speculation should stop, using measures like how nobody is allowed to own a hdb and private property starting from dunnowhen, and 2nd private property now requires 40% down payment etcetcetc. But don't they realize the people they are penalizing are possibly 30% of the population who could very well afford more than 1 property?? Like that's why they can afford to speculate and invest in properties in the first place?? Instead of poor people like me who have to invest in TOTO and 4Ds to get extra income??? And indirectly who gets punished? US!!!!!! MEEEEE!!!
70% of the population would still not be able to afford a private property, and where do they turn to? RESALE FLATS. And then what happens? These resale flat owners (or sellers) and agents know that they are high in demand now, so what happens? THEY ASK FOR RIDICULOUS COV.
And when I say ridiculous, I MEAN RIDICULOUS. Just last weekend, we visited this place in Toh Guan. Agent (who ought to be slapped) claim very nice leh, corner unit, 4 room, greenery view, high floor, near MRT!!! And when we visited, WTF OK. I don't even wanna step into the place. It was rented to 4 bangladeshi workers so you can imagine the smell ok!!!! Like not just ah neh smell (i'm not racist), but it was like the whole flat was engulfed with curry powder. KAOS!!!! The agent should totally add in 'buyers would love this unit if they enjoy curry' in their description. AND IT WASN'T EVEN CORNER UNIT OK. TRY TO CHEAT MY MONEY. It was the SECOND LAST unit. The agent was like, "oh got one more unit at the end, so only one family will walk pass your unit. Very little disturbance!"
KNN. LIKE THAT CALLED CORNER UNIT ISSIT. I DON'T CARE HOW MANY FAMILIES WILL WALK PAST, YOU TELL LAO NIANG CORNER IT BETTER BE CORNER UNIT. Don't try to deceive me!!!!!
And please. Can see a few trees and grass patch they say greenery view. THE WORST PART?? NOT NEAR MRT LOR!!! Just because can see MRT track kena described as near MRT. Try to cheat me again!!! AND THE WORST WORST PART (pardon my terrible vocab but I'm very angsty). Owner asking AT LEAST 20K COV. Please hor, I will rather pay you 20k to see you jump off the building than buy over your stinking decepticon unit.
All these chao turtles, which sometimes I feel attributes to the manipulative kanasai property agents. Fucking greedy. Last time 80K can buy HDB 5 room flat can? Looking at the age of these resale flats I've seen, I'm 100% sure these owners would have made AT LEAST 100-200K with the recent valuation. AND THEY STILL WANNA MAKE MISERABLE 20K FROM POOR YOUNG THINGS LIKE US. Money hard to come by ok?? Plus with ridiculous inflation and increasing property prices these days, how can they do this?? Fine, if your area is good, with nice decor, near MRT, maybe there's a slight justification.
BUT WHEN YOUR PLACE SMELLS LIKE YOU COOK PRATA ALL DAY, NOT NEAR MRT, GREASY FLOOR, NOT CORNER UNIT WITH ONE NOISY FAMILY WALKING PAST, DON'T TRY TO BE FUNNY AND ASK 20K(at least) COV OK!!!
I won't even pay 20 cents above valuation!!!!
Geez man!! Government should be coming up with measures to stop these greedy people! And agents!! Instead of finding ways to curb the rich! They are no doubt good measures, but not pirority measures.
I know some people will advise BTOs but seriously, do you see any BTOs in the west? There are THRONGS sprouting up in places like Punggol and Yishun but hell, I wanna live near my parents!! No way will I bid those areas! Fine, they did have Dawson. VERY GOOD. But ONLY 2 miserable blocks up for balloting 2 years back and it was grossly oversubscribed. My friend's queue number was 4000+. Sheeeeeeeeessshhh!!
I think the government should consider TAXING COVs. Then maybe it will stop increasing to as ridiculous as 100K.
YES. You heard me right. 100K COV. Lan jiao bin ok. 100K I will throw the downpayment in a Tuas Condo beside a factory than give it to these money grubbing slimy agents/owners. I'm pretty sure most of the time they are in cahoots. All collaborating to cheat sincere buyers out there. Don't ever believe in sincere sellers. There are NONE!!! SAI LOR. More like sincere in sucking your money. Pui!!!
